Salem, MA House Fire, Feb 1930

Salem, Mass., Feb. 19--Miss Nellie McGrath, 48, was burned to death yesterday in a small cottage in which she lived alone at 6 Friend street.

The fire was discovered about 4 a.m. Firemen found the small structure in flames, with the roof caved in when they arrived. After an hour's hard work they subdued the flames and found the charred body of the woman in a bed on the lower floor.

Miss McGarth was last seen near the house at midnight. She is believed to have a brother living in this city.
