Boston, MA Small Lighthouse Burns, June 1929
FIRE DESTROYS LIGHTHOUSE.
(By Associated Press)
Boston, June 7 -- Bug Light, a small lighthouse on a ledge in Boston harbor, was destroyed by fire today.
THOMAS SMALL, the keeper, escaped in a row boat. The fire started in a tank in which oild used for the light was stored, and rapidly swept through the lighthouse, which was set above the sea on a steel frame.
Officials at Quarantone discovered the fire and gave the alarm, but before fireboats could reach the lighthouse it had been destroyed.
