Boston, MA St Augustine Mission and School Fire, Jan 1908

St. Augustine's Fire.

Just at the beginning of service last Sunday night fire was discovered in the roof of St. Augustine Mission and parochial school. An alarm was quickly given by Mr. Henry C. Holmes, who with other members and friends saved much of the valuables in the building. The edifice is said to be partly insured.

The fire interfered with the working of the parochial school. The officers of The Wage Earners Bank becoming aware of this fact, readily offered. Rev. Weston the use of their hall across the street, which was accepted and is now being used. The members of the mission feel very grateful to the officers of The Wage Earners Bank for the use of their hall.
