Lansing, Michigan, Fatal Train and Buggy Collision, September 1875

Mr. PACKARD, one of the proprietors of the Everett House, at Lansing, was killed last week. He was crossing the track of the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern railroad, when the horse became frightened and jumped into the cattle guard. Horse and driver were killed, and the buggy knocked into a thousand pieces.
