Ypsilanti, MI Fire Captain Dies in Fire, Jan 1966

11 January 1966 at 1:11 PM Ypsilanti Fire Department responded to the 600 Block of Armstrong Drive, Fire Captain Aaron Carson Age-49 was the first fire fighter on location, he was advised of a child trapped in the fire on the second floor.
Captain Carson entered the second floor and did not return, Carson was located by other fire fighters unconscious at the top of the stairway, he was transported to Beyer Hospital DOA, No child was trapped the fire was in a mattress. Carson was the first fire fighter to lose his live in the line of duty in the history of the Ypsilanti Fire Department
