Dearborn, MI House Fire, Jan 1977

At 6 AM four persons were killed in a house fire at 2211 Cornell Street Dearborn Michigan, each only inches away form escape, Battalion Chief George Schleif stated it was his worst fire in 28 years. Dead are Joseph Albert age-12, David Albert Age 8, Debbie Albert age-17 , Toney Oberto 6 months. . All four were trapped on the second floor of there home. Escaping the flames un harmed were Rene Albert age, 13, Richie Albert age 15, Rosemary Albert age 45, Terry Oberto age-19. Mrs Albert was transported to Oakwood Hospital for shock and frostbite. Terry Oberto of 2717 Geneva Dearborn was the fater of Toney and staying at the house. Mr. Albert and 10 year old Mary were not home at the time of the fire. Oberto sleeping in the basement awaken by the smoke ran to awake Mrs. Albert but could not get to the second floor of the 50 year old house , the second floor was engulfed in flames. Fire Fighters found the boys dead in a second floor Kitchen . Debbie and Toney were taken to Oakwood Hospital after being rescued and were DOA at the hospital. Five other daughters of the family were not home or reported as no longer living at the address at the time of the fire. Darlene Albert age 26, Wwin Marlene Ramm age 26 Donna Gentry, M.
