Rochester, MN Auto Crash Into Bridge, Nov 1960

Rochester, Minn. (AP) - A Minnesota pastor and the six children he was caring for while his wife attended a school play were killed Friday night when his car slammed into a concrete bridge abutment.
"The worst I've ever seen and it makes it more terrible because of the children," said Sheriff Gerald E. Cunningham.
Killed were the REV. JOHN EASTMAN, 28, and all his children - PAMELA, 7; MARY, 5; JAMES, 4; CAROL, 3; THOMAS, 2; and JOHN about 10 months.
The crash came on a country road near Dover, 15 miles east of here, as EASTMAN was driving the children to visit the family of a fellow pastor at Plainview.
An autopsy was ordered to determine if the pastor might have been the victim of a heart attack or some other sudden seizure.
