Kansas City, MO Ammunition Store Fire, Feb 1960
Kansas City, Feb. 29 (AP) – For three anxious hours Sunday night, firemen fought flames which licked dangerously close to a store of ammunition in downtown Kansas City.
The fire destroyed a two-story brick building housing the plant of the Brunson Instrument Co., manufacturers of precision instruments for optical tooling and engineering survey equipment. But firemen prevented the fire from spreading next door to a gun shop where the ammunition was stored.
Cause of the first hasn’t been determined.
H. Robert BROWN, superintendent of the Brunson plant, estimated the damage at $500,000
