Helena, Mont. (AP) - Lightning killed one boy and injured seven others during a baseball game here Sunday.
Before hundreds of spectators, the bolt knocked a dozen persons to the ground and stunned others.
ROBERT FREEMAN MORRIS, 16, was struck
on the head and killed. Seven other American Legion junior players from Anaconda and Helena were treated or hospitalized for shock. Physicians predicted they will recover.
The bolt hit the field just as the first inning ended. Some players and umpires BOB CHILTON and ZACK MURFITT were knocked down. Others went to their knees. Spectators in the grandstand said they felt a blast like an explosion.
