BRUNING PLANE CRASH KILLS PILOT.
Bruning, Neb. (AP) -- A P-47 Thunderbolt fighter plane from the Bruning army air base crashed in a cornfield five miles east of Alexandria Monday, killing its pilot, Col. C. D. McAllister, commander of the Bruning base, announced.
The name of the pilot is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The cause of the crash is undetermined but an investigation has been started, Colonel McAllister said.
