Yutan, NE Gas Pipeline Explosion, Dec 1968

THREE KILLED IN EXPLOSION.

Yutan, Neb. (UPI) -- Three men were killed and three injured Thursday evening when an explosion
followed by fire, erupted in a propane gas pipeline located on a farm near here.
Saunders County Atty. Robert Sullivan identified the dead as:
EDDIE MOUROT, about 22, of Morrilton, Ark.
CHARLES WARREN, about 35-40, believed to be from Tulsa, Okla.
JOHN TEST, 32, Paulina, Ia.
Sullivan said the fire which followed the explosion has burned itself out.
The injured were identified as:
ROBERT HOELZEMAN, 21, Tulsa, Okla., in critical condition at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln.
JAMES TINER, 38, Tulsa, in critical condition at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
THOMAS THOMPSON, 45, Jay, Okla., in good condition at Methodist Hospital.
The explosion took place just as a group of repairmen arrived in four vehicles on the Hubert Peterson farm 2 1/2 miles northwest of here where the pipeline was leaking.
The dead and injured were members of a crew that had been constructing a pump station for
Mid-America Pipeline Co., Tulsa, at Valley, Neb.
