Dunbar, NE Train Wreckers Strike, Jan 1887

RAILROAD TRAINS WRECKED.

TWO MEN KILLED AND SEVERAL TRAINMEN INJURED.

Atchison, Kan., Jan. 12 -- The Missouri Pacific passenger train from Omaha due here at 3:45 A. M., was thrown from the track near Dunbar, Neb., 106 miles north of here last night, killing JAMES B. The rail was removed by two or more malicious men, as a farmer who happened to be up saw in the moonlight two men hastily leave the spot as the train was approaching, and an examination showed that the spikes and fish-plates had been removed, and close by a claw bar belonging to the Burlington and Missouri River Road was found.
