Woodsville, NH Train Wreck, Dec 1878

WOODSVILLE, N. H., Dec. 11.---The through express freight train from Boston, with two engines, went into the river near Wentworth, where the trestle was swept away, and both were badly wrecked. No one was seriously injured. John March, the engineer, was carried several rods down the river, where he caught hold of a bush and saved himself. The bridges were also swept away at Warren and East Haverhill.
