CHILD BADLY HURT BY TROLLEY CAR

Thomas Newell, 4 years old, of 35 Titus avenue, was playing near his home last night when he ran in front of a trolley car and was struck upon the head by a fender rod. He is now at St. Francis Hospital and it is thought his skull is fractured.

Charles Cook motorman of the car, applied the brakes at once and brought the car to a stop. Newell at that time did not appear to be very seriously hurt and he was taken to his home, where a physician attended him.

His condition grew worse and he was taken to the hospital.
