Northport, NY Auto And Bus Collide, Mar 1969

DOWNSTATE AUTO-BUS CRASH KILLS 5.

Northport, N.Y. (AP) -- Five youths, including a girl, were killed Thursday night when the 22-year-old car in which they were riding collided with a bus.
A sixth youth, also a passenger of the car, was taken to Huntington Hospital following the accident and listed in critical condition.
Neither of the two passengers in the bus was injured. The bus driver suffered a broken wrist and was taken to the hospital police said.
Police said the collision occurred on Laure Avenue, near the intersection of Scudder Avenue.
The dead were listed as:
BRUCE A. ZILLIAN, 21, the driver.
JONATHAN PURVIS, 19.
JOHN MARTIN, 26.
WILLIAM KEARNEY, 21, all of Northport.
CONSTANCE FUREY, 18, of East Northport.
In critical condition was BRUCE ANGLEMAN, 21, of Northport.
The bus driver was identified as RAYMOND P. MARVIN, of East Northport. His age was not given.
