West Austintown, OH Auto And Train Crash, May 1936
DEATH FOR SEVEN IS CLIMAX OF WEDDING.
Youngstown, O., May 16 (UP) - Seven members of a wedding party were killed, four of them instantly, today when their car crashed into the side of a freight train at West Austintown near here.
The dead, all of Youngstown: PETER, PATRICK and CARL PACHELL, brothers; their nephew, PAUL, GUY PIETRA, and SAM and JOHN CARROZZINI, brothers. The bride was the PACHELL brothers' sister.
The crash occurred shortly after the seven left a wedding celebration here. They were bound for Lake Milton on a week-end trip. Witnesses said their car was traveling about 50 miles an hour when it hit the train.
Four of the victims were dead when taken from the debris. The other three died at the South Side branch of city hospital.
