TWO PERSONS DIE AS FIRE WRECKS THREE BUILDINGS.
Johnstown, Pa. (UPI) -- Two persons burned to death today when fire swept three frame buildings in the city's Kernville section and routed scores of residents in frigid temperatures.
The victims were identified as MRS. CARRIE IVY COLEMAN, about 80, and her daughter, SARAH, about 52. Police said MRS. COLEMAN was blind and her daughter was a cripple.
Firemen from seven Johnstown companies and three suburban companies fought the blaze, at the intersection of Franklin and Haynes Sts.
The wrecked buildings were two and three-story structures. One housed a restaurant and barber shop, and the two others contained apartments.
The fire was reported at 6:14 a.m.
Cause of the blaze was not known and there was no estimate of damage.
