Village Wiped Out By Flood And Fire
South Fork, Pa., Jan. 6. – The village of Gilestown, (sic) across the Conemaugh river from here, has been practically wiped out by flood and fire. No casualties of any kind occurred, but the damage is upwards of $60,000. Last night two bridges connecting Gilestown (sic) and South Fork were carried away by the ice and high water of the river and early to-day fire broke out, destroying a church, school, several stored and a number of houses.
