MOUNTAIN PLANE CRASH KILLS TWO.
Orson, Pa. (UPI) -- A 24-year-old Monticello, N.Y., pilot was killed and his 18-year-old passenger was injured Sunday when their private plane crashed into Ararat Mountain in Wayne County near the New York border.
State police identified the victims as ANTHONY ELDE. The passenger, HAROLD SUPON, also of Monticello, was first taken to a Susquehanna, Pa., hospital, but later was transferred to the Binghamton, N.Y., hospital, where he died.
The craft crashed in the sparsely populated border country during heavy fog shortly after taking off from Hallstead, Pa., on the return flight to Monticello.
A resident of the area heard the crash and alerted State Police who conducted a two-hour search before they found the wreckage.
Meanwhile a search was scheduled to resume today for a private plane with four persons aboard missing since late Saturday.
