TWO DIE AS TRAIN STRIKES CAR AT COLMAR CROSSING.
Colmar, Pa. (AP) -- A Bucks County couple died Saturday night after their car was struck at the Route 309 grade crossing in Colmar by a Reading Railroad train traveling from Philadelphia to Doylestown.
MRS. REGINA AYERS, 43, 101 Dorset Ave., Croydon, was pronounced dead at 11:25 p.m. Saturday at the North Penn Hospital by Dr. John A. Hoffa, Montgomery County coroner.
The cause of death was a compound fracture along with multiple injuries of the chest and body, Dr. Hoffa said.
MRS. AYERS was a passenger in the car driven by her husband, ALBERT, 44. MR. AYERS was transferred from the North Penn Hospital to Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia, where he died of head injuries shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday.
