Holesburg Junction, PA Struck by Train While Picking Up Cigar, Jan 1912


Attempting to Pick Up Weed, Smoker Is Struck by Train.

Philadelphia, Jan 6----Trying to pick up a cigar that had dropped from his mouth cost Frank Smith his life today at the Holesburg Junction station of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Smith was standing on the station platform and dropped the cigar on the railroad track just as an express train and is supposed to have been seized with an epileptic fit as he fell on the tracks and was run down before other persons on the platform could rescue him.

He was 40 years old
