Fire Destroys Planing Mill

The planing mill of Gustav Berger, on American street above Cumberland, was destroyed by fire yesterday morning, the loss being estimated at $30,000. The flames, originating in a wood pile, spread to the mill and several frame structures on the plant, all of which were destroyed. It was difficulty that the firemen saved surrounding property. The employes[sic] of the mill were at work at the time the fire started, but all of them escaped injury.
