Easton, PA Trolley Car Accident, May 1902


Brakes Fail to Work and in the Ensuing Wreck Two Men are Killed.

Easton, Pa., May 23.---Two men were killed and many men and women injured in a trolley wreck a few miles below Easton at midnight last night.

EDWARD COMMODORE of Nazereth and JOSEPH DEHRIEMMER of Easton were killed.

On a steep hill the brakes refused to work, and the car ran away, rescending[sic] the incline at a terrific rate of speed, and at the foot of the hill, on a sharp curve, the car jumped the track, throwing 30 passengers into a confused mass with the above result.
