Chester Store Damaged

Fire Destroys Stock, But Adjoining Properties Are Saved.

Special to The Inquirer.

Chester, Pa., July 16. - While the family of Samuel JACOBS were seated at lunch today, a stone was hurled through the dining room window by a passerby who wanted to inform Jacobs that his store, which ajoins the residence at Eighth and Caldwell streets, was on fire.

Jacobs made a quick investigation and found the place in flames, with no possible chance of saving any of the stock. The district fire companies fought the blaze and saved adjoining properties, but Jacobs' loss will amount to about $3500. The origin of the fire is a mystery.
