Mr Luther MAYER Loses His Dwelling With its Contents.

Special to The State.
Newberry, March 5. - The residence and contents belonging to Mr. Luther MAYER, who lives about three miles in a northwestern direction from the city of Newberry were destroyed by fire last night about 12 o'clock. It is supposed the fire originated from a defective flue in the cook room.

Mr MAYER is one of Newberry county's young and most progressive farmers.

The dwelling was a two-story house and had recently been greatly improved. It was one of the nicest houses in the county. The house was insured for $1,600. which amount will not replace the dwelling. All contents of the house were burned and it was with difficulty that some of the occupants of the house were saved.
