Colton, SD Railroad Depot Fire, Jan 1912

Dakota Central Station Completely Destroyed---Save Nothing.

Sioux Falls, Jan. 8.---A loss of between $4,000 and $5,000 resulted from the destruction of the depot building of the South Dakota Central Railway Company at Colton. Nothing could be saved, even the cash received from the sale of tickets and a payment for freight being consumed. The regular passenger train had passed a short time before and the depot agent had temporarily left the building when the flames broke out.
