Granbury, TX Bomber Crash, Oct 1943

SIX FLIERS KILLED.

Fort Worth, Tex., Oct. 11. -- (INS) -- Six Army flyers killed when a heavy bomber crashed Saturday between Granbury and Thorp Springs, Tex., were identified today by authorities at the Fort Worth army air field.

The dead were:
First Lt. GEORGE M. REINHOLDT, 26, Sawyer, N.D., wife Mrs. Frances M. Reinholdt, Fort Worth.
Second Lt. FRANK M. JORDAN, 24, student officer, Terrell, Texas, wife Mrs. Doris E. Jordan, Fort Worth.
Second Lt. HAROLD M. BAKER, 23, student officer, Mansfield, Penna.
Sgt. LYLE S. MITCHELL, 23, aerial engineer, Michigan City, Ind.
Pvt. PAUL J. O'NEAL, student engineer, New York City.
Pfc. PETER MARCHEWSKY, 28, Pittsburgh, Pa.

The bomber burned and investigators were unable to determine the cause of the crash in a heavily wooded region.
