Eleven Reported Killed By Cloudburst

St. Louis, July 2.-A special to the Republic from Dallas, Tex. Says a cloud burst, followed by a tornado, occurred today between San Antonio and Corpus Christi, and news was received late tonight that 10 persons are known to have been killed near Pettis. There are rumors of other fatalities.

Property Loss Is Heavy

San Antonio & Aransas Pass Railroad loses Track and Bridge. Wires Are Down and Accurate Reports Are Not Obtainable.

San Antonio, Tex., July 2.-A cloudburst to-day visited the southwestern section of Texas. No accurate reports of the loss of life can be obtained, as the telegraph wires are down in the storm swept section but enough is known to warrant the belief that at least 30 persons mostly Mexican laborers and farm hands, perished in the flood.

Near Norman 10 Mexican farm hands are reported drowned and 17 more are said to have been drowned at Pettis. The heaviest damage was sustained by the San Antonio & Aransas Pass railroad. Several thousand feet of its tracks and one large bridge were swept away.

A telegram from Bercla says word has been received from Beeville that there was no loss of life there, but that a negro and a Mexican were missing property loan in the towns is placed at $50,000.
