Vineyard, TX Wind Storm, Jun 1916
Vineyard, June 7.—Yesterday evening and last night we had the heaviest rain of the season. About three inches of rain fell in two hours with heavy winds and some hail. The wind did some damage to oats and other small grain which is now ready to cut and is very fine. The rain was not badly needed as there was a good season in the ground.
Vineyard, June 7.—News came over the phone today that the windstorm which did some damage to the grain crops here yesterday evening was a great del more severe northwest of here. It blew down a dwelling on the Berry ranch and one on the place of Mrs. Sinn, completely destroying the latter. Both houses were occupied by farmers but they were fortunately in storm cellars and no one was hurt.
