Dallas, TX Saloon Fire, Feb 1897

Early Morning Fire.

An alarm of fire was sent in from the Moss Rose saloon, on Houston street, opposite the courthouse, at 2 o’clock this morning. The fire originated in a refrigerator, but was extinguished by the fire department with the aid of the chemical engine after the refrigerator had been gutted and holes burned in the floor. The amount of the loss and the cause of the fire could not be ascertained.
