4 STORES BURN IN EAST TEXAS TOWN

TEXARKANA., Jan. 3. -- Fire of undetermined origin swept the little town of Easterly, Texas, a place of about three hundred inhabitants Saturday night, destroying four stores and the postoffice, all under a frame roof building belonging to D. J. Easterly, claiming a damage toll of $14,000, partially covered by insurance to the amount of $7,000.

The blaze started at 11 o'clock and raged for one hour, being bravely fought by bucket brigades until it was under control.

Three days previously, fire practically devastated Marquez, claiming a damage estimated at $52,000.  Marquez is town but a few miles from Easterly.
