House Furnishings Destroyed.

SPECIAL TO THE NEWS.

Fort Worth, Tex., Oct. 16. - A fire in a moving van that was being used to bring in for storage a lot of valuable rugs, cut glass and china caused the loss of over $1,000 to A. T. Powell. He was a resident of Arlington Heights, but decided to move into the city for the winter. The valuables of the nature stated were being brought in for storage. Near Hi-Mount the goods, in some manner, caught fire, the driver of the van, a negro, and the white man in charge of the wagon being unable to give any explanation of the cause. The wagon, which belonged to W. P. Hall's storage warehouse, was destroyed with the contents. The men and horses escaped injury.

Mrs. Powell left this evening for St. Louis, where she will stay for several months, that being her former home.
