Fort Worth, TX Fire Engine Hits Car on the Way to Church Fire, Aug 1908

FIRE WAGON HITS SOUTH SIDE CAR

First Congregational Church Found on Fire

The handsome First Congregational church building at College Avenue and Pennsylvania avenue was threatened with fire Saturday night when two rooms at the rear of the church property caught fire from a charcoal burner. Prompt work of the firemen put out the blaze with a loss of not more than $100.

In hurrying to the fire from the station on Lipscomb street a hose wagon of Company No. 8 collided with a street car at the intersection of Magnolia avenue and Lipscomb street. The speed of the hose wagon and car were both reduced before they met. A hole was punched in the side of the car.
