Four persons, representing three generations of a family, were injured, two critically, Monday when their car collided with a bridge railing on the Hutchins road near the County Convalescent Home.
J. T. Lamb, 58, of 1409 Lenway, received a fractured skull. Mrs. Lamb, 55, was badly bruised and perhaps internally hurt. Their daughter, Mrs. Guy A. Mays, of the same address, received minor cuts and bruises and their granddaughter, Shirley Mays, 3, sustained severe cuts and bruises and probably a fracture of her left leg. Mr. and Mrs. Lamb and their granddaughter are at St. Paul Hospital.
The four were returning from a vacation trip to Galveston. The car struck the bridge railing after a tire blew out, police were told.
Early Monday morning Floyd West, 73, of 1534 Caldwell, escaped with minor bruises from his sedan after it overturned and caught fire following a collision at Commerce and Exposition. The fire was quickly extinguished. West was treated at the Emergency Hospital.
