St. George, UT Training Plane Crash, Mar 1946


St. George, Utah, March 23 (AP) - While his horrified mother watched, PAUL NEILSON, 24, a member of the army air force for two years, crashed in his own door-yard and was killed when a privately-owned training type plane went out of control late yesterday.
His cousin, ANTONE J. NEILSON, JR., 22, was injured, and attendants at St. George Hospital said his condition was "very critical."
PAUL NEILSON was piloting the plane in a series of stunts when the crash occurred, Wilson N. Lunt, a witness said. The crash did not harm Mrs. Israel Neilson, the mother, nor the Neilson home.
PAUL NEILSON had been placed in the inactive reserve after death of a brother, Rodney, in the Celebes. NEILSON, was a prominent Dixie High School and Dixie Junior College athlete. He has a brother, McKay Neilson, attending a Bremerton, Wash., military school. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Antone J. Neilson, PAUL NEILSON is survived by his parents.
