LeMay, UT Train Wreck, Jan 1910

Four lives were lost and a host of others wounded. The reason more lives were not lost it [sic] attributed to the fact that immediately behind the engine of the passenger train, were two steel mail cars, which were not wrecked and which prevented the passenger coaches from telescoping.

Sheriff Josephson, County Attorney Nels Jensen and Justice James Knudson went out to the scene of the wreck as soon as notified and Tuesday the sheriff summoned a jury consisting of W. C. Horsley, J. Francis Merrell and Denmark Jensen, who went to Ogden for the purpose of getting testimony. The case was resumed here yesterday and the decision of the jury was that the wreck was caused by an open switch. The responsibility for the opened switch was not placed.
