Heavily Loaded Electric Train In Smash At Ogden

Motorman Jumps and Passengers Escape With Shaking Up.

Ogden, July 17. - Two trains on the Ogden Rapid Transit line collided headon midway between Five Points and Harrisville this morning. One of the trains consisted of a motor and six trailers and the other of a motor and a trailer.

There were about 375 passengers on the two trains, some of whom were slightly injured. The motormen escaped injury by jumping before the cars came together. The damage to the equipment is estimated at between $1500 and $2000.

Part of it had been rented from the Salt Lake & Ogden railway.
