CHURCH BLOWN DOWN DURING SERVICE AND PASTOR AND WORSHIPERS WERE INJURED.
WELLSBURG, W. Va., March 30.---(Associated Press.)---A storm in the Ohio Valley today caused a calamity here. The historic Franklin Methodist Church is in ruins and its venerable pastor is seriously injured. Two members of the congregation are dead and several are wounded. Rev. Allshouse had reached the peroration in his sermon when suddenly the gable of the church was blown in. The falling timbers struck him and fell all about him. The congregation was panic stricken. Many reached the outside, but others were yet inside when the gale lifted the roof and it fell among the people. The dead and injured are as follows:
ESTELLA BRADY, instantly killed.
ROBERT GIST, died while being taken home.
Rev. Allshouse, seriously injured.
Melvin Harvey, gashes in head, arm broken.
Russel Gist, wounded about head and body.
