SIX KILLED IN BUS-CAR CRASH.
Chandler, Ariz., May 3 (UP) - Five members of one family and a bus driver were killed tonight when a car apparently sped through a stop sign and collided with a bus.
Two other children in the family were critically injured and may not live. Twenty-three passengers on the bus were injured.
Highway Patrolman Coy Beasley said the car, driven by TIVES PERRY, 33, of Collidge, Ariz., sped through the stop sign at Norton's Corners, three miles east of here, at about 45 miles an hour.
The car was flattened against the bus, turned over and burned. The bus careened 132 feet along the road and smashed into a tree.
Besides PERRY, the dead were his sister-in-law, MRS. HELEN CARTER, 45, of Coolidge, and three of her children, RUTH, 17, HELEN, 12, and SUE ANN, 6. Her two sons, DONALD, 10, and CARMEN, 11, were in critical condition.
The dead bus driver was C. R. WINNER, 39, Phoenix.
