COLLISION VICTIMS IDENTIFIED.
Oxnard police Saturday positively identified the victims of a two car collision at Fifth Street and Victoria Avenue which claimed the lives of three and injured two others Friday.
The dead are:
DEREK NAPOLEAN WILSON, 7, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pole Wilson, Jr., of 1262 S. M Street, Oxnard.
SHARON MARIE HERNDON, 16, whose address was listed on police reports as a University of California, Santa Barbara, post office box.
WANDA HEDGEMAN, 18, of 2107 Mariposa St., Apt. A., Oxnard.
A third girl riding in the Volkswagen with MISS HERNDON and MISS HEDGEMAN, VICTORIA HELEN JOHNSON, 19, of Goleta, was reported slightly improved but still in serious condition Saturday night at St. John's Hospital, Oxnard. She is suffering from head injuries and a broken arm, authorities said.
POLE WILSON, 42, the father of the dead boy, was reportd in satisfactory condition Saturday night at Bellinda Hospital in Port Hueneme.
According to police reports, it appears the teen-aged girl were traveling north on Victoria at about 5:10 p.m. and collided with the WILSON station wagon which was heading East on Fifth.
Witnesses told police that the Volkswagen was traveling at about 70 m.p.h. and failed to stop at the Fifth Street stop sign. Police have not been able to determine who was driving the small foreign car when the accident occurred.
