Augusta, GA Aeronaut Falls Several Hundred Feet, Nov 1907
Woman Aeronaut Hurt.
Madame Theresa, the aeronaut, who appeared here with her husband, Prof. Zola, during the Fair, and made ascensions each day, was the figure in a sensational and dangerous ascent at the Georgia-Carolina fair at Augusta, Ga., Wednesday afternoon. She went up several hundred feet and landed in the Augusta canal about four miles above the city. She was saved only by the life-preserver which she wore around her body, she being unable to swim a stroke.
