John Helm Roach, 25-years-old, was killed in an automobile accident in Chicago Saturday night, according to word received in Louisville by his mother, Mrs. Henrietta Helm Roach.
Mrs. Roach was notified of the accident by the victim's wife, who was unable to give the mother details concerning it.
Mr. Roach, who was graduated from Louisville Male High School in 1926, had made his home in Chicago for the past three years. He was a grandson of Mrs. John G. Roach, 214 East St. Catherine Street, Louisville, and of Mrs. James T. Helm, who lives at the Church Home and Infirmary.
His wife informed his mother she will arrive in Louisville with the body on Monday morning. Funeral services are to be conducted at the Roach lot in Cave Hill Cemetery at 10 o'clock Monday morning.
Mr. Roach's other survivors are his three small children and a brother, Ethric Roach. His father, who was also named Ethric Roach, is dead, Mr. Roach's mother, who has been out of the city this summer, is temporarily at the home of Mrs. John G. (or O.) Roach.
The Associated Press in Chicago reported it could find no record of the accident, lending to the belief Mr. Roach's death might have occurred outside the Chicago district.
