Indianapolis, IN Two Car Crash Kills Five, Mar 1957

FIVE PERSONS DIE IN TWO-CAR CRASH.

Indianapolis, Ind. (INS) - Five persons were killed today in a two car crash on U.S. 31 near the Marion and Hamilton County lines.
Four of the dead are members of the same family although it has not been determined what the relationships are:
They are:
ISAAC T. DIAL, 52, of Atlanta, Ind.;
BARBARA L. DIAL, 18;
MRS. CLAUDE DIAL and her baby;
CLAUDE DIAL, father of the baby, is critical at a Noblesville Hospital.
The other victim was ANNIS CHRISTINE WEST, 23, of Carmel, a nurse at the new Community Hospital in Indianapolis.
State Police said the nurse, driving a Ford Thunderbird south on U.S. 31, went off of the highway, on the berm then skidded sideways back across the road and was struck by the DIAL car.
It was presumed all of the DIAL family was from Atlanta, but State Police only had the record, so far, on ISAAC DIAL.
