TWO FIRES IN LEAVENWORTH.
The Historic Planters House Slightly Damaged---Tramps Fire a Barn.
LEAVENWORHT, Kas. Feb. 12.---Last night at 10:30 o'clock, fire was discovered in the kitchen of the old Planters house. It had evidently been burning for some time, as three or four rooms were badly scorched. Five minutes later it would have been impossible to have saved the historic landmark. The building has not been used as a hotel since last October. Two hundred dollars will probably cover the damage.
A barn in the rear of John Shormaker's residence, in North Leavenworth, was fired by a tramp and partially destroyed last night at 8 o'clock.
