Body of Man, 28, Found After Two Days In River

A 28-year-old man was found drowned in the Ohio River yesterday, two days after he apparently had taken a swim from his cabin cruiser anchored nearby.

He was John Joseph DOUGLAS, Jr., 4632 Winchester. He was found at the lower end of Six Mile Island about 12:30 p.m.

His family said he frequently went boating or swimming alone at night. He left home about 6 p.m. Wednwesday and did not return, they said.

When found, Douglas was clad in swimming trunks. His trousers and shirt were found in the boat.

His wife, Mrs. Doris KUPRION Douglas, identified him by an elastic bandage on his right leg and a ring.

Deputy Coroner John W. C. Fox gave a verdict of accidental drowning. Douglas apparently was drowned late Wednesday or early Thursday, he said.

Douglas was a machine designer for the Logan Company.

Other survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Douglas, Sr.
