Vivian, LA Train Wreck, Aug 1902

Left the Track

Shreveport, La., Aug. 23-A southbound passenger train on the Kansas City Southern railroad left the track near Vivian, about 36 miles from Shreveport. The tender, baggage and mail cars and four coaches careened over. The sleeper left the track but did not turn over. Henry Dean, conductor, was internally injured, and the following passengers were hurt: J. D. Brown, Prescott, Ark.; J. Seraphino, Beaumont, Tex.;

--- Stubbs, Texarkana. A relief train was sent from this city, but the services of the doctors were not needed.
