Fire Destroys Five Buildings at Dumont
Fire of unknown origin swept one side of the business section of Dumont on Wednesday, leaving only the smoldering ruins of five buildings.
It was sometime in the forenoon that the fire started, and by six o'clock in the evening the buidlings had been levelled to the ground. The fire was then almost out and only the glow of the timbers andthe smoke gave an indication of what had happened. The buildings to suffer were two grocery stores, a produce, a millinery, and a barber shop. Everything was a complete loss.
