Eldora Springs, MO Balloon Accident, May 1908


ELDORA SPRINGS, Mo., May 24.---Henry Schroeder, a young man of his vicinity, was dangerously and it is believed fatally injured in attempting to make a balloon ascension here this afternoon.

The wind was blowing hard when the balloon was liberated and it was swept to one side with such rapidity that Schroeder struck the wall of an adjacent building with great force and was rendered unconscious. He was dragged over the top of buildings for two block, finally landing on the porch of a residence. He is suffering from concussion of the brain.
