2 Fighter Planes Collide; 2 Killed

SAG HARBOR, N. Y., Aug. 16. (AP)--Two Air Force fighter planes with crews of two men each collided at 8,000 feet near here today. Two men parachuted to safety.

State police said they had unconfirmed reports that two bodies had been discovered near the scene. Sag Harbor is about 100 miles east of New York City on the north shore of Long Island.

An Air Force spokesman said the two parachuting to safety were from the same plane. The collision occurred at 8:40 a.m. (CST) while four twin-engine planes were on a radar navigation training flight. They were not flying in formation at the time.
