CRASH ON I-75 NEAR LIMA KILLS FIVE, INJURES TWO.
Lima, Ohio - (AP) - Five people died Wednesday in a chain-reaction accident on Interstate 75 just north of the northwestern Ohio city.
The accident involved four cars and two trucks in the southbound lanes, said Sgt. Robert Norbeck of the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Lima post.
Three of the five people were identified, Sgt. Norbeck said. The victims included GREGORY KING and DIANE KING, both 39 and from Lima, who were in a car GREGORY KING was driving.
Also killed was DALLAS PELCHER, 50, of Texarkana, Texas, who was driving a tractor-trailer rig. The patrol did not release the identities of the others until relatives could be notified.
Two people were injured, KENNETH MARTIN, 65, of Willoughby, driver of one of the cars, was in critical condition at Lima Memorial Hospital, Sgt. Norbeck said. The identity of the other injured person was no released.
The roadway was wet and slippery because of rain.
